Narayan Murthy turned his/her wife’s 10,000 into billions but still has this regret

Narayana Murthy, a name that needs no introduction. The entire journey from giving birth to Infosys to transforming it into one of the best IT companies in the world is something that inspires everyone. Even Murthy’s own personality forces youngsters to learn a lot from him/her.

However, there is one thing related to this personality, which Murthy himself regrets. And the truth is that he/she is not the only one who feels this way. But it is said that sometimes it takes so long to realize one’s mistake that by then everything is over. At such a time, there is no point in apologizing or talking about it. And exactly the same feeling can be associated with Murthy as well. (Photo courtesy: Instagram@ smtsudhamurty)

I got the support of my wife which is a dream for many

Coming from a simple family, Narayan and Sudha are a couple who show what it means to support each other. When Murthy approached his/her wife with the idea of Infosys after the failure of the first start-up, she did not agree to it.

However, later she gave her husband Rs 10,000 of her savings for the company. Even after this, Sudha made sacrifices at every step, due to which Narayan was able to fulfill his/her dream.

Getting such a wife is a dream for any husband. Because there are very few women who support risky dreams and stand firmly with their partner at every step. Usually such situations become the reason for the couple to separate, but when Narayan gets a better half like Sudha, how can he/she not get success.

But there is one regret that remains in Narayan Murthy’s heart

Narayan Murthy turned Rs 10,000 into billions of rupees. But still, he/she had a regret. In an India Today summit, when he/she was asked why he/she did not make his/her wife a part of Infosys, Narayan Murthy admitted that this was his/her biggest mistake.

‘I was an inveterate idealist in those days. The trend at that time was for family members to take over the company as the generations progressed. After returning from France, I wanted to do something different.

First of all, I decided that I will not let my company become a husband-wife company. Although I knew very well that Sudha was more capable than any of us founder members.

I don’t know how many husbands are left regretting

I don't know how many husbands are left regretting

There are so many husbands who, like Narayan Murthy, roam around with a feeling of guilt in their hearts. And why? Because due to narrow-mindedness, he/she took such a decision which confined his/her wife to a limited sphere.

There are so many talented girls who could never showcase their true talent. And often by the time husbands realise their mistake, their wives have given up their dreams and dedicated themselves to the home.
