Namita was asked to prove her Hindu identity in a temple, the actress made several allegations

Now it is in the news because an actress has been asked to prove her Hindu identity. Actress and BJP leader Namita has told what happened to her at the Meenakshi Sundareshwar temple. However, temple officials have denied the allegations. Said that the actress and her husband were wearing masks. That’s why they were being asked. Actress and BJP leader Namita alleged that on Monday, August 26, while visiting the Meenakshi Sundareshwar temple in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, she was asked for proof of being a Hindu. According to news agency PTI, she alleged that a temple official stopped her from entering the temple and asked her for proof of being a Hindu.

In a post on Instagram, he/she said, ‘For the first time I felt alienated in my own country and in my own place, because I had to prove myself as a Hindu! The issue is not that I was asked about it, but how I was asked about it. The officer and his/her assistant too, were very rude and arrogant.’

Namita accused the officials

The actress, who is a state executive member of the BJP, said that it is a known fact that she was born in a Hindu family and got married in Tirupati. Her son is named after Lord Krishna. ‘Those officials spoke rudely to me and also asked me for a certificate to prove my caste and religion.’

Temple official gave clarification

However, a senior temple official said that Namita and her husband were asked if they were Hindus as they were wearing masks and had to explain the temple’s traditions. After the matter was cleared, kumkum was applied on their foreheads and they were taken inside the temple, PTI quoted the official as saying. But the actress says that she was allowed entry into the temple only after showing her faith and applying kumkum on her forehead.

Namita said- made me wait for 20 minutes

She said, ‘There is a way to ask. I was made to wait in a corner for 20 minutes. We had informed the police about our arrival on Sunday.’ The actress said that she was wearing a mask because she did not want to disturb the devotees who could recognize her. Let us tell you that the actress
