Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has revealed that the Uddhav Thackeray government wanted to send him to jail. Fadnavis said that the target was given to former police commissioner Sanjay Pandey. Fadnavis said that although he had not done anything wrong, due to which the police commissioner could not get success. The former chief minister said these things during a program organized by ABP Manjha.
Devendra Fadnavis said that the Mahavikas Aghadi government had given the then Mumbai Police Commissioner Sanjay Pandey the target of putting me in jail. The government had given orders to somehow implicate me and file criminal cases against me. Fadnavis said that this is the truth and you can ask any police officer. Fadnavis said that though I had not done anything wrong, that is why he could not succeed. Fadnavis said that ‘he has no personal enmity with Uddhav Thackeray but he has stopped answering my phone calls. If he did not want to have an alliance with the BJP (after the 2019 assembly elections), he should have told me.
Fadnavis said that ‘recently met my Vahini (Uddhav Thackeray’s wife Smita Thackeray) at an event, I asked her to convey my wishes to Uddhav Thackeray as this is the culture of Maharashtra and I cannot leave it’. Let us tell you that last year, Eknath Shinde rebelled against the Shiv Sena and formed his own party, due to which the Uddhav Thackeray-led Mahavikas Aghadi government fell. Eknath Shinde formed the government with the support of the BJP and became the new CM of the state. Devendra Fadnavis was made the Deputy Chief Minister in Shinde’s government. In Maharashtra, Sanjay Pandey, a 1986 batch IPS officer, was arrested in a money laundering case after the Mahavikas Aghadi government fell and Eknath Shinde’s party and BJP came to power. Presently he is out on bail.
