Movie Review: The love story is fine but the story of Ajay-Tabu’s film was nowhere in power!

The film ‘Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha’ starring famous stars like Ajay Devgan and Tabu was to be released in the month of April this year, but the film was postponed due to the Lok Sabha elections. The release date of the film was again announced as 5th July, but this time the producers postponed the film fearing the blockbuster performance of Prabhas’ film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’. Finally, this film was released this week without any promotion. Despite the presence of big stars, only 7 thousand people made advance booking for this film, while only a few viewers reached the cinema even in the morning shows.

The story of ‘Where was the strength in others’

This love story film tells the story of love between a couple Krishna (Ajay Devgan) and Vasudha (Tabu) in the period of 2001 to 2024. Krishna and Vasudha, neighbours of each other in a chawl in Mumbai, love each other very much. Krishna has received an offer from the company to go to Germany. Both of them are dreaming of their bright future. A few days ago, Krishna had a fight with some goons living in his/her own area. To teach him/her a lesson, those goons target Vasudha who is returning home alone one night. Hearing Vasudha’s scream, Krishna reaches there and kills two goons in anger.

Krishna is sentenced to life imprisonment. Vasudha now wants to wait for Krishna’s release, but he/she convinces her to marry someone else. Due to good behaviour, Krishna’s sentence is reduced by two years. When he/she comes out of jail, he/she meets Vasudha. Vasudha, who has married Abhijeet (Jimmy Shergill), has still not been able to forget Krishna. But what happens next in the story, to know the outcome of this love story, you will have to go to the cinema.

‘Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha’ Movie Review

Neeraj Pandey, director and writer of the film ‘Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha’ is known for his/her brilliant thriller films. Neeraj, who entered the romantic genre for the first time, tried his/her best to add a thriller angle to romance, but unfortunately, in this process, he/she got entangled between romance and thriller. Especially the story of the film is very weak. The film starts in a decent manner and the love story of Krishna-Vasudha gives you hope of a beautiful film, while the silence of Ajay Devgan, who is serving a jail sentence, points towards some mystery. But during this, the slow pace of the film and the repeated songs test your patience.

As a viewer you watch the film until the interval in the hope of some miracle. But after that the repeated scenes break all your hopes. In the climax of the film, after about two and a half hours, you feel cheated.

If we talk about acting, Ajay Devgan and Tabu tried their best to bring life to the film with their mysterious silence, but in reality, their younger characters have got more footage in the film than them. The pairing of Shantanu Maheshwari and Sai Manjrekar, who appeared in the characters of their younger days, looks great on screen. Especially Shantanu has done amazing acting on screen. he/she has excelled in the shades from lover boy to angry young man.

Jimmy Shergill, who appeared in select scenes, has also managed to leave his/her mark. But unfortunately, the hard work of the characters went waste due to the weak story. There is a lot of scope for excellent music in a love story film, but the music of this film is nothing special. The cinematography and background score of the film are also average.

Why watch- If you are fond of love story films, are a fan of Ajay Devgan and Tabu, then you can book tickets for this film. Otherwise, there is nothing special in this film for which you should spend money.
