Movie Review: Kill

If the film ‘Kill’ has been called the ‘most violent and goriest’ film in the trailer, then it is not wrong at all. This is the most bloody film of Indian cinema. It is definitely not for the weak hearted. Although we have seen bloody games in Hollywood films like ‘Bullet Train’ and ‘Train to Busan’, but the way the Holi of blood is played between the hero and the villain in director Nikhil Nagesh Bhatt’s ‘Kill’ not only surprises you but also does not let you move from your seat.

What is the story of the movie ‘Kill’

You must have heard the saying, ‘Dil Jala Hai, Duniya Jala Kar Rakh Kar Iga’, yes, the seed of the story of ‘Kill’ also germinates from there. When National Security Commando Amrit Rathod (Lakshya), who has returned from a special operation, comes to know that his/her girlfriend Tulika (Tanya Maniktala) is getting engaged, he/she goes to Tulika’s house to stop the engagement, but by then the engagement has already happened. Now Tulika, her father Baldev Singh Thakur (Harsh Chhaya) and their family board a train coming from Ranchi to Delhi. Amrit is travelling in the same train with his/her commando friend Abhishek Chauhan (Veeresh Chatwal). During the journey, Amrit proposes Tulika for marriage by making her wear a ring in the washroom, but both of them are unaware that on the way, a huge group of ruthless robbers and murderers has boarded their train, whose leader is a demon like Phani (Raghav Juyal) and his/her ruthless father Beni (Ashish Vidyarthi). These robbers are not ordinary robbers but a gang of blood-thirsty people who are equipped with jammers and deadly weapons. These 20 ruthless robbers who go to any extent to loot start shedding blood in the train, but there are only two people in the train, Amrit and Abhishek, to face the people. Will these brave commandos be able to face these killers or will they be sacrificed, you will have to watch the film to know this.

The director has kept the script of ‘Kill’ tied up

Out of the nine emotions of cinema, Shringar, Hasya and Karuna have been more dominant, but in the recent past, after violent films like ‘Animal’, the audience’s interest has been awakened towards the ghastly emotions and director Nikhil Nagesh Bhatt’s film, as per its title, embarks on such a journey of mass killing that the audience cannot help but be stunned. Many people may call this film of the director, who had shown the ferocious form of the heroine in his/her previous film Apoorva, a film that glorifies violence, but the director tries his/her best to justify this cruel bloodshed that why the commando who beheads the enemies on the border is forced to create bloodshed inside the train? Why does the protector himself become a monster in front of these monsters? The length of the film is its plus point. Instead of wasting time in developing the love track, the director comes straight to the point and after that, this train starts galloping like the Flying Queen from the perspective of story and treatment.

The action choreography of the film ‘Kill’ is superb

The lack of breathing space in the story makes you feel very restless. The choreography of the action in the limited space of the train is amazing and you are initially shocked by the increasing pile of dead bodies in the story, but then you start enjoying the gruesomeness by becoming a part of it. The bodies of the dead are cut and beaten in such places that you cannot even imagine. Rafe Mahmood’s cinematography, Shivkumar V Panikar’s editing, treatment and background music are also strong. The action choreography of the film has been designed sensationally by Yeong Oh and Parvez Sheikh, but yes its shock value is enough to disturb you.

Raghav Juyal was seen in the role of villain in ‘Kill’

Lakshya portrays the passion of becoming a protector and a demon in such a mesmerizing manner that the audience starts justifying his/her actions. A new action star has emerged in Bollywood in the form of Lakshya, but Raghav Juyal’s brutality, body language and dialogue delivery as the villain Phani attract you more. Veeresh Chatwal as friend Abhishek supports well. Tulika’s role as the heroine is not very big, but from the point of view of the story, it is the turning point and Tanya Maniktala has done it beautifully. Ashish Vidyarthi has been brilliant as always in the role of Beni. Harsha Chaya as Baldev Singh Thakur makes his/her presence felt.

Why watch –People with weak heart should not watch this film at all, yes those who are fond of violent films can enjoy it.
