Mridula was studying in ninth class then
Mridula told, ‘I saw my husband and he/she saw me for the first time on 23 May 1993. Before that we had seen each other in pictures. This photo was for my brother’s wedding. A picture of a girl came. In the picture were his/her two brothers and parents. This came when I was in ninth and he/she was in eleventh.

Regarding the love story, Mridula further said that we both started liking each other and then started looking for reasons to meet each other to take the story forward. Pankaj’s wife told that handkerchief played a special role in his/her story.
It started with a handkerchief
While sharing an interesting incident, he/she told that the conversation between us started with the fact that if you wash your hands then you need a handkerchief and while giving it, the hand had to touch, which gives you a different feeling. Then the sequence moved forward. I used to call Pankaj you.
‘Mother used to tell me to call Pankaj bhaiya’
The special thing is that mother had no idea and she used to ask me to call Pankaj brother. Because he/she was my sister-in-law’s brother and was two years older than me. The dilemma was that I could not call him/her brother. I started with Pankaj ji and never called him/her bhaiya or Pankaj.
The love story reached a beautiful milestone with marriage in 2004.
Mridula revealed that she calls Pankaj her husband. Pankaj and Mridula have a daughter, named Aashi. She told that even today I call him/her husband. When he/she used to come to Calcutta (Kolkata) every 6 months or a year, he/she used to touch my feet deliberately. She is very naughty. A small love story that started in 1993 came to a beautiful end with marriage in 2004. he/she told that both of them never expressed their love to each other but Mridula had requested for marriage and that too when Tripathi was in NSD.
