Most wickets: Ashwin leaves Lion behind, now Australia’s second great is on target, Kumble is also not far away


New Delhi. Ravichandran Ashwin has left Nathan Lyon behind in the list of bowlers taking most wickets in Test matches. Off-spinner Ashwin did this feat on Thursday during the India-New Zealand second test match. R. Ashwin has taken his/her Test wicket count to 531 by dismissing 3 New Zealand batsmen. Now he/she has become the sixth most successful bowler in the world and second most successful bowler in India.

Before the start of the India-New Zealand match, Ashwin was at seventh place in the list of bowlers taking the most Test wickets. Before the Test match being played in Pune, he/she had 528 wickets in his/her name. By dismissing Tom Latham, Will Young, Devon Conway, he/she took his/her number of wickets to 531. Nathan Lyon has only 530 wickets. After dismissing David Conway after lunch break, Ashwin’s name has come at sixth position in the list of bowlers taking most Test wickets. Earlier Lion was at sixth and Ashwin at seventh. Now Lion is at number seven.

This is the 105th test of Ravichandran Ashwin. Nathan Lyon has played 129 test matches. Ashwin has not only played less matches, but he/she is also in a better position than Lion in terms of average and strike rate. Ashwin takes wickets at an average of around 23, whereas Lion’s average is more than 30. Australia’s Glenn McGrath has now come under Ravichandran Ashwin’s target. Glenn McGrath is at fifth place in the list of bowlers taking most wickets. he/she has taken 563 wickets.

Muttiah Muralitharan’s 800 wickets
Sri Lanka’s Muttiah Muralitharan remains the leading bowler in Test cricket with 800 wickets. In the list of bowlers who have taken the most Test wickets, Shane Warne (708) is at second place and James Anderson (704) is at third place. After this comes Anil Kumble, who has taken 619 Test wickets. Glenn McGrath is at number five.
