Most ‘qualified’ for the job in IIT Delhi! Understand how this decision is taken, who is included in the top 10


IIT Delhi students are the most employable in entire India. We are not saying this. A world level ranking released recently says. This ranking has been prepared by a French consultancy in collaboration with the prestigious Times Higher Education (THE Rankings). Its name is- Global Employability University Ranking and Survey 2025 (GEURS). In this list, America’s MIT is number-1 in the whole world. Whereas IIT Delhi has got the first position in India. Also know on what basis this ranking is obtained.

Top 10 institutes of India

A total of 250 institutions of the world have got a place in this list. Out of which India’s IIT Delhi is ranked 28th globally and first in the country. After this comes the name of IISc Bangalore, which has global rank of 47 and number-2 in the country. IIT Bombay is ranked third in India and 60th in the world.
After this comes the name of IIT Kharagpur, which is ranked fourth in the country and 141st at the global level. IIM Ahmedabad is the 5th most employable institute in India. Its global rank is 160. After this, the names of IIT Madras, Delhi University, Amity University, Anna University and Bangalore University are respectively. (Photo- IIT Delhi)

In this ranking, the institutions are judged on the basis of how capable the companies find their students for jobs. That means here the perspective of the world’s top companies, their experience and their vote matter a lot. For this a complete process is adopted which is explained further.

First of all, a survey is taken from the employing companies, in which they are asked about their experience with these educational institutions. After recruitment in institutions, information is taken about the future training and expectations of their students. Here the ratio of the needs of the industry and the ability of the institutions to make their students capable of meeting those needs is assessed.

Voting takes place after the survey. Here companies vote for colleges/universities on the basis of their employability performance. Around 1000 universities are assessed across the world.

Institutions are ranked in GEURS based on overall voting. A list of total 250 institutions is prepared. This ranking gives details of the opinion of companies and performance of institutes at the global level. It tells which institute prepares its students best according to the demands of the job market.
