Actress Monalisa, who left a mark in the role of a beautiful witch in the TV show ‘Nazar’, is now once again showing her charm in the role of a witch in the serial ‘Shmashan Champa’. When asked the reason for saying yes to the role of a witch again, Monalisa says, ‘In this show, the look, style, powers of my character Mohini are all different. In this, I have been given a very different look from the previous show. I have horns on my head. I have the power to control people. I also look beautiful. Anyway, our producer Gul Khan has always presented her artists in a different way, so I did not have to think twice before saying yes.’

I need the power to keep an eye on my husband

Didn’t you feel that after Nazar you are repeating yourself in a negative role? On this she says, ‘No, I don’t feel that I am repeating myself. Actually I have done 125 Bhojpuri films, in which I have done positive roles many times. I have done different shades in it. Whereas, in negative, this is just the second or third time. After doing 50, you can say repeat.’ On the other hand, when Monalisa was asked that if she gets any superpower in real life, which power would she want? She says, ‘I would like such a power that whenever my husband Vikrant goes for a shoot, I can see what he/she is doing with his/her heroines. Meaning, I can be anywhere, but I can keep an eye on them (laughs).’

No time for Bhojpuri films

Monalisa has been a top actress of Bhojpuri cinema, but she has been away from Bhojpuri films for a few years. When asked the reason for this, she said, ‘I still get offers for Bhojpuri films. But after doing TV shows, I do not have time to do films. After Bigg Boss 10, I am continuously busy in TV shows. I am also getting very good roles. Therefore, it becomes a bit difficult to go back to Bhojpuri films right now.’
