Mohammed Shami’s heart broken… will not go to Australia, BCCI confirmed

Mohammed Shami Australia News: Indian cricket team’s star fast bowler Mohammed Shami has suffered a major setback. To regain fitness, Shami turned to domestic cricket but he/she did not get success. Now he/she will not even go on Australia tour. BCCI confirmed on Monday that Shami will not go for the remaining two Test matches on the Australia tour. The Indian Board says that Shami’s fitness is not worthy of being sent to Australia for the remaining two Test matches of the Border Gavaskar Trophy.

Mohammed Shami has completely recovered from the heel injury. BCCI gave an update on Shami’s fitness today. Shami last played competitive cricket in the ODI World Cup 2023 final. BCCI said, ‘The medical team is working on Shami’s recovery and rehabilitation. he/she has completely recovered from the heel injury. Shami bowled 43 overs for Bengal in the Ranji Trophy match against Madhya Pradesh in November. he/she played 9 matches in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. There is slight swelling in his/her left knee due to excessive load on the joint due to bowling. This is to be expected while bowling after a long time.

BCCI has said that Shami still needs more time to bowl at his/her old rhythm again. his/her knee is not yet fit for bowling much. Due to this, he/she was not considered fit for the remaining two test matches of the Border Gavaskar Trophy.

Last international match was played on 19 November 2023
Mohammed Shami last played a match for the Indian team on 19 November last year. After this, he/she was out of the team due to injury. he/she underwent knee surgery. After becoming fit, Mohammed Shami took the field from November 2024. Shami has played 10 domestic matches during this period. Why is he/she not in Team India despite playing continuously? This question was asked to Rohit Sharma after the second and third test matches. Rohit’s reply was that even though Shami was playing T20 match, in the meantime swelling had appeared in his/her knee. The team management is keeping an eye on Shami’s fitness.
