Planning for joint session of Parliament also

The Central Hall of the old Parliament House, now known as the Constitution House, is very important from the historical point of view. The transfer of power from the British to the Indians took place in this hall on the midnight of 14-15 August, 1947. The Indian Constitution was also made in the Central Hall itself. The Central Hall was earlier used as the library of the then Central Legislative Assembly and the States Council. In 1946, it was converted into the Constituent Assembly Hall and given a facelift. The meetings of the Constituent Assembly were held here from December 9, 1946 to January 24, 1950.

Modi government is therefore making preparations

Until the construction of the new Parliament building, this hall was used for the President’s address before the joint session of Parliament and the budget session. However, it is now part of the Constituent Assembly and is used for informal meetings by MPs. It has been the initiative of the Modi government to celebrate this day with full enthusiasm every year, especially in Parliament, where it is debated and discussed. Last year’s celebration was surrounded by controversy when the entire joint opposition boycotted the event, calling it a sham. The opposition argued that the Constitution is in danger under the Modi government since 2014.

Discussion in the meeting of NDA Chief Ministers

However, during the recent meeting of the Council of Chief Ministers chaired by Prime Minister Modi, he/she had mentioned the celebration of Constitution Day. he/she not only asked the Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers of all NDA ruled states to encourage participation in this great occasion but also told his/her NDA colleagues that it is their responsibility to make people aware of the power of the Indian Constitution. Which is based on a solid foundation. This statement came after the opposition parties tried to create a false narrative that if BJP gets more than 400 seats, it will change the reservation policy enshrined in the Constitution. This also affected the performance of NDA in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
