Cellular Jail

The Cellular Jail, popularly known as “Kala Pani”, is an old colonial prison located in Port Blair, the capital of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Built by the British during their colonial rule in India, this prison was mainly used to keep Indian political prisoners. Many soldiers were kept here such as Gati Singh, Sukhdev, Rajguru, Batukeshwar Dutt, Yogendra Shukla and Vinayak Damodar Savarkar.

Bird Island

One of the beautiful places in Andaman, Chidiya Tapu is located about 25 km from Port Blair. As the name suggests, this place is a paradise for birds. But, apart from just watching birds here, you can do water activities like snorkeling, scuba diving, deep-sea walking, pearl hunting and boating. The wildlife sanctuary consists of a group of 12 islands located in the shape of a maze. Here you can see turtles and many species of fish.

North Bay Island

North Bay Island is one of the most favourite tourist destinations in Andaman, famous for its beautiful coral reefs and exciting adventure activities. North Bay Island is one of the most beautiful islands in the world. Here you can do activities like scuba diving, snorkelling, sea walking and glass boat rides. There are more things to do here than in Neil Island or Havelock.

Airway: The Veer Savarkar International Airport in Port Blair is connected to many major cities of the country like Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, and Mumbai.
Direct or connecting flights are available to Port Blair from major airports in the country.

Sea Route: You can travel by sea from coastal cities like Chennai, Kolkata and Visakhapatnam to Port Blair. Regular passenger ship services are available from these cities. The sea journey may take around 3 to 4 days.

By Road: Since Port Blair is an island, it cannot be reached directly by road. You will have to opt for air travel or sea travel first.
