While posting this video on X (Twitter) with the handle named Aaruhi Yadav, it has been written, ‘This video is from Pakistan. In this video it is seen that a crowd of brutes in the form of men are trying to rape the girl. This is called Taharrush Gamea! ‘Taharrush Gamea’ is an Arabic word which means ‘joint manipulation’.

In this game youth target a girl alone in a public place. In groups, these boys either physically molest the girl or rape her. This dirty game was played in Arabia. How is ‘Taharrush Gamea’ played? First the boys form a circle and surround the girl alone, then the boys present in the inner circle sexually exploit the girl while the boys in the outer circle keep the crowd away.

On searching, we found links to some news of August 18, 2021, which are related to this video. These news agencies ANI, India Today, The New Indian Express And The Guardian Contains links to.

According to the news of these four websites, this video is from Pakistan, but the claim being made on social media is wrong. It has been reported in the news that this incident happened on the occasion of Independence Day in Lahore, Pakistan. A mob of hundreds of men attacked a female TikToker near Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore on 14 August 2021.

The mob surrounded the female TikToker, teased her, tore her clothes and threw her in the air. Somehow the woman’s life was saved and she lodged a complaint with the police. In his/her complaint he/she accused around 400 people of attack. After the video of this incident went viral on social media, questions were raised on women’s safety and gender equality in Pakistan.
