The web series Mirzapur is named after the city in Uttar Pradesh. Most of its scenes have been shot on location in Mirzapur. The city is close to Prayagraj, making it easy for people to recognize many scenes from Mirzapur Season 2. For example, the scene where Kulbhushan Kharbanda i.e. Bauji performs the last rites of Pankaj Tripathi’s character Kaleen Bhaiya. This was shot at the Jargo Dam near Mirzapur in Chunar. Another scene is when Guddu (Ali Fazal) and Golu (Shweta Tripathi) shoot at Munna (Divyendu), which takes place at the same place.

Where is the mansion of ‘Mirzapur 3’ built?

Tripathi Kothi and Kaleen Bhaiya’s Haveli in Mirzapur is actually Ajmatgarh Palace in Varanasi, also known as Moti Jheel Mahal. This place is most important for the series as all the scenes of the haveli are shot inside it. Apart from this, Tripathi Chowk is shot at Ramnagar Fort, which is often shown in the show. Like Kashi Nagari, the glorious ghats of Varanasi are also highlighted in Mirzapur, which add more colors to it.

Shooting also took place in Lucknow and Gorakhpur

Lucknow, apart from being the shooting location of Mirzapur, is also a tourist destination. Known as the city of Nawabs, the city is famous for its architecture, delicious Mughlai food and intricate chikankari embroidery. In Mirzapur season 2, fans can spot the crossing near the Novelty MGS Cinema in Lalbagh, where Guddu visits his/her sister in the city. Gorakhpur, the farthest city from Prayagraj and Mirzapur, is shown in several scenes in the series.
