Maxwell is not fit to play Test…David Warner attacked his/her teammate

New Delhi. Australia’s former explosive opener David Warner has given a big statement regarding Glenn Maxwell’s Test career. Warner says that Maxwell is not entitled to play the Test. Not only this, Warner has even said that even though Australia has won the second Test against India, his/her team’s top order batsmen are still under pressure. Marnus Labuschagne, who was the target of criticism recently, returned to form with a strong half-century in Adelaide. At the same time, openers Khawaja, Steve Smith and young opener Nathan McSweeney are struggling to score runs in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

David Warner told Fox Cricket, ‘I think not only Uzi (Usman Khawaja), but all the top-order batsmen are under pressure.’ Travis Head scored a brilliant century on his/her home ground in Adelaide, helping Australia bounce back from a crushing defeat in Perth to level the five-match series. Warner said, ‘Travis came and counterattacked and scored a brilliant century. We know he/she is capable of doing this. But other batsmen should also follow him/her.

The last match was in the name of Mitchell Starc
David Warner said, ‘It is not a matter of just one player, all the top six batsmen should make big scores and ensure that they are giving enough chances to their bowlers to rest. The last match was in the name of Mitchell Starc who, as always, performed well with the pink ball. In reference to the third Test match starting in Brisbane from Saturday, Warner said, ‘I hope that our top batsmen will play big innings in Brisbane.’ McSweeney, who made his/her Test debut in Perth, has so far scored 59 runs in four innings while his/her opening partner Khawaja has been able to score only 34 runs. he/she has been able to reach the mark of 50 only once in the last 16 innings. Former captain Smith is also going through a bad phase. he/she has scored 19 runs in three innings so far.

‘Not worth the Maxwell test’
Warner said about McSweeney, ‘When it comes to an opening batsman, he/she has to play the most difficult role and I believe he/she was successful in playing such a role.’ There is talk of including limited overs cricket specialist Glenn Maxwell in the Test team, but Warner believes that this all-rounder is not worthy of it. he/she said, ‘If you are not being selected for the four-day competition of domestic cricket, then how do you become eligible for a place in the Test team. I don’t think he/she deserves it.
