Haji Mohammad Hussain, a shopkeeper in Matiya Mahal market, told Local18 that he has been selling chicken here since 1975. He further told that once upon a time, when former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Akhtar had come to Jama Masjid, he had come to this shop to eat chicken. On social media, people compare the chicken of this shop with brands like KFC.

Al Jawahar Restaurant
There is a restaurant in this market, which is being operated since 1947. This restaurant was inaugurated by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. From then till today this restaurant is being operated in his name. Many big celebrities are spotted in this restaurant every day. Rahul Gandhi, B Praak, Lucky Ali, Sonu Nigam, Rajkumar Santoshi, Honey Singh, Sajid-Wajid and many other big personalities have visited this restaurant.

Qureshi Kebab
Qureshi Kebab Corner is a 70 year old shop. Many types of kebabs are available here, such as Bade Kabab, Mutton Kebab and Chicken Kebab. Not only from Delhi but people from other states and many big celebrities also come here and eat this delicious kebab. Recently, cricketer Umran Malik and Bigg Boss winner Munawar Farooqui also came to his place.

Aslam Chicken
The owner of this shop, Arbaaz told that he had started this shop in 2001. Rahul Gandhi, Robert Vadra, Indian team cricketer Khalil Ahmed, even former cricketers Mohammad Kaif and Azrudin have come here to taste the chicken here.

How to reach this market
To reach this market, you will have to get down at Jama Masjid metro station from Violet Line. As soon as you come out of Gate No. 1, you will see Matia Mahal Market at a short distance. This market opens at 11:00 am. Then it remains open till 2:00 in the night. You can come here any day of the week.
