Manisha Koirala’s ‘Ek Chhoti Si Love Story’ exposed after 23 years! The director made big revelations

Manisha Koirala worked in the film ‘Ek Chhoti Si Love Story’ in the year 2002, in which her opposite was 14 year old Aditya Seal. But there were some intimate scenes in this film, which were shot with Manisha Koirala’s body double. Manisha Koirala was enraged after seeing this. At that time, this was the first adult film of a mainstream actress, which created a lot of controversy. Manisha had also dragged the makers to court and had also taken the help of some political personalities to stop the release of this film. Manisha Koirala had accused the film’s director Shashilal K Nair of using objectionable scenes in the film. Now the director has exposed Manisha Koirala along with this film. Shashilal K Nair said in an interview to ‘Friday Talkies’, ‘I wanted a newcomer. A girl who looks like a model. Manisha said that I will do this film. So I said that this will be an experimental film. But Manisha said that I will do it. Manisha didn’t look like a model and I wanted a thin girl for the role. I told the same thing to Manisha.

Manisha Koirala had become arrogant due to the intoxication of success, said – I made some mistakes, which I regret till today.

‘Manisha could not lose weight even after several months, I was disappointed to see her’

Shashilal further said, ‘Manisha said that I can lose weight by going to the gym and working out. When she was talking so much and even said that she will not take any money, then you get convinced. I gave Manisha a few months time, but she could not lose weight. She came to the set on the first day of the shoot and I was disappointed to see her. If she is so overweight then how will we make the film?

Shashilal K Nair again said, ‘I discussed this with her (Manisha Koirala). It was one in which a boy chases a girl. he/she looks at it through binoculars. Now for someone to do that, the girl has to have that kind of look. How can she play this role? There was a need for such scenes in the film, in which she could be seen changing clothes and doing such things.

‘We had a long meeting during the lunch break. We decided that for close-up shots we could use Manisha’s shots and for longer shots we could use duplicates as I did not want to hurt her. I didn’t want to tell her to go back. Manisha helped and cooperated a lot. She and her duplicate were in the same costume.

Shashilal had said- Manisha and I can never be friends

Earlier, Shashilal had said in an interview to ‘Times Now’, ‘The only reason I see for her creating such a ruckus is that she wants to enter politics. It’s the only way I can understand this madness. I never wanted such a bad situation. Manisha is like family. I wanted to make a film with newcomers. My life has become a mess. The memories of 15 years back have been ruined. Manisha and I can never be friends again. Although I wish we could be friends.
