Manish Sisodia gets big relief from Supreme Court before Delhi Assembly elections

New Delhi: The Supreme Court has relaxed the bail conditions of AAP leader and former Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia. As a condition of bail in the corruption and money laundering case related to excise policy, it was said that he/she would have to appear before the investigating officers twice every week. This condition has been removed by the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court bench led by Justice BR Gavai, while relaxing the bail conditions, has made it clear that Sisodia will have to appear in the regular case. While directing to remove the said conditions, the court said that we do not find this condition necessary. The petitioner had said that the conditions of bail given to him/her should be relaxed.

Sisodia has been granted bail by the Supreme Court in the cases related to corruption and money laundering, during which many conditions have been set, including that he/she has to appear before the investigating officer twice a week. Sisodia had appealed for relaxation in this condition. On November 22, the Supreme Court, while hearing the petitions of Sisodia, had issued notice to CBI and ED asking them to file their reply. Earlier, on August 9, the Supreme Court had granted bail to Sisodia in these cases. The bail condition stated that Sisodia would have to appear before the investigating officer every Monday and Thursday between 10 am and 11 am and the court had also said that he/she would submit his/her passport to the special court and would not be able to influence the witnesses. Or will not try to tamper with the evidence.
