According to the autopsy conducted at Silchar Medical College and Hospital, 10-month-old Laishram Lamanganba had bite wounds on his/her body, his/her head was severed and both eyes were missing. On November 17, three women and three children were abducted by suspected Kuki militants from Borobekara area of ​​Jiribam district of Manipur following an encounter with security forces. A few days later, their bodies were found in the Jiri River in Jiribam district and in the marshy banks of Assam.

Eight-year-old Telan Thjanganbi had multiple bullet wounds and serious abdominal injuries. Telam Thoibi, 31, suffered serious head injuries, including fractured skull bones. The autopsy report of the woman, child and infant was made public on Wednesday, before which the reports of three other family members had been released.

This incident is another deep wound of the ongoing caste violence in Manipur. The long-running tension between the Meitei and Kuki communities is now erupting into horrific violence that has engulfed the entire state. Hundreds of people have been killed, thousands rendered homeless, and an entire society is living under the shadow of fear and uncertainty.
