Malayalam star Siddiqui absconding, arrest warrant issued, court refuses to grant anticipatory bail

After the report of Justice Hema Committee, the clouds of crisis looming over Malayalam cinema are not clearing. Now the police have declared senior actor Siddique, accused in the physical and sexual abuse case of actress Revathi Sampath, a fugitive. The actor was to appear in the Kerala High Court on Tuesday. But he/she did not reach there. An arrest warrant has been issued against Siddique. While he/she is absconding. he/she has also switched off his/her mobile. Meanwhile, the court has also refused to grant him/her anticipatory bail. According to the report of ‘News 18’, Siddique had filed an anticipatory bail petition in the court to avoid arrest. Hearing on this was held on Tuesday. An arrest warrant has already been issued against him/her. Siddique did not appear in the court, where the judge also rejected the anticipatory bail petition.

Siddiqui was not found at home, his/her mobile was also switched off

In search of Siddiqui, the police searched two houses of the actor, but he/she was not found there. his/her mobile numbers are also switched off. Therefore, he/she has been declared absconding. On the other hand, sources related to the actor say that Siddiqui will now knock the doors of the Supreme Court to avoid arrest.

Actress Revathi Sampath had filed a complaint against the actor in the Trivandrum Museum Police Station in the month of August. In this, the actor has been accused of physical abuse. The actress claims that 8 years ago in 2016, Siddiqui called her to Muscat Hotel to discuss a film, where she was sexually abused.

Siddiqui had given clarification after a complaint was lodged with the police. he/she had said that Revathi was trying to unnecessarily implicate him/her. Hitting back at the actress, Siddiqui had also filed a complaint with the Director General of Police. he/she had said that he/she had met Revathi in 2016 in the presence of her parents.
