Maharashtra Elections: Patole, Chavan, Amit Deshmukh… Congress’s first list released, names of 48 candidates

New Delhi: Finally, after a long tussle, there was coordination of seats between Maha Vikas Aghadi in Maharashtra. At present, 85-85 seats have been divided between the three constituent parties of Maha Vikas Aghadi, Congress, Shiv Sena and Sharad Pawar’s NCP. A decision on the remaining seats will be taken soon. After this coordination, on Thursday evening, Congress released its list of candidates from Maharashtra, in which the picture was cleared on 48 seats. Among all the big faces the party has included in the first list, state president Nana Patole is from Sakoli, former CM Prithviraj Chavan from Karad South, Maharashtra government minister Nitin Raut from Nagpur North, Amit Deshmukh, son of former CM Vilas Rao Deshmukh and elder brother of well-known Bollywood actor Ritesh Deshmukh, from Latur Rural, Vilas Rao Dheeraj Deshmukh’s second son has been given ticket from Latur city, flamboyant MLA Sangram Thopte from Bhor, young face Vishwajit Kadam from Palus Kadegaon, woman leader Yashomati Thakur from Teosa. Former state president Balasaheb Thorat has been fielded from Sangamner. Whereas Congress Legislature Party leader from Brahmapuri, Vijay Wadettiwar has been given a chance.

Party again expressed confidence in Vikas Thackeray

It is noteworthy that the party has once again expressed confidence in Vikas Thackeray, who gave a tough fight to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari in the Lok Sabha elections, and has given him/her the ticket from Nagpur West and Bunty Baba Shelke from Nagpur Central. Former minister Aslam Shaikh has got ticket from Malad West, MP Varsha Gaikwad’s sister Gaikwad has got ticket from Dharavi, Naseem Khan, who was a minister in Maharashtra government, has got ticket from Chandivali, Dr Sunil Deshmukh from Amravati, Anirudh Bablu Bhau Deshmukh from Achalpur, Satish Manoharrao Vajurkar from Kaimur. .

On one hand, Congress has given another chance to some of its existing MLAs, while on the other hand it has fielded some new faces. It is noteworthy that till now Congress has released the list of 48 candidates in Maha Vikas Aghadi, while Sharad Pawar’s NCP has released 45 candidates and on Wednesday, Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena has cleared the list of 65 candidates.
