Maharashtra Election Result 2024 LIVE: Mahavikas Aghadi flies in the storm of BJP led Mahayuti in Maharashtra Assembly elections

New Delhi : Counting of votes continues for Maharashtra Assembly elections. Voting was held on November 20 for all 288 assembly seats in the state. The main contest is between the BJP-led alliance Mahayuti and the opposition alliance Maha Vikas Aghadi. This is the first assembly election in the state after the split between Shiv Sena and NCP. On behalf of Mahayuti, BJP is contesting on maximum 149 seats, Eknath Shinde led Shiv Sena on 81 seats and Ajit Pawar led NCP on 59 seats. In Mahavikas Aghadi, Congress contested 101 seats, Shiv Sena Uddhav Bal Thackeray 95 and NCP Sharad Pawar 86 seats. The majority figure is 145. According to the trends on the official website of the Election Commission, Mahayuti seems to be getting a huge majority.
