Madarsa News: Now Sanskrit will be taught in Madarsa, Madarsa Board itself prepared the plan

Uttarakhand Madrassa Board is planning to introduce Sanskrit education as optional in more than 400 madrassas in the state. Chairman of Uttarakhand Madarsa Board, Mufti Shamoon Qasmi said, ‘We have been working on this scheme for some time. A proposal is being prepared in this regard. If it gets the green signal from the state government, it will be implemented.

Benefits of NCERT in Madrassas

he/she said that ‘this is being done in accordance with the wish of CM Pushkar Singh Dhami to connect madrasa-going children with mainstream education. Implementation of National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) curriculum in Madrasas of the state has yielded very good results this year. The passing percentage of children has been more than 96. This shows that there is no dearth of talent among the children going to madrassa. If they get a chance, they can do well in other subjects including Sanskrit.

Qasmi said, ‘Both Arabic and Sanskrit are ancient languages. It will be beneficial for madrassa students if they have the option to learn Sanskrit along with Arabic.

Board registrar Shahid Shami Siddiqui said Sanskrit education in madrassas is still just an idea awaiting implementation. When asked whether a proposal in this regard was being prepared by the board, he/she said that it had not been brought to his/her notice yet.

What is the Waqf Board saying?

Uttarakhand Waqf Board Chairman Shadab Shams also said that the idea of implementing Sanskrit education in Madrassas is definitely good, but he/she wondered what is stopping the Madrassa Board from implementing it. he/she said, ‘If they really want this, they can do it easily. I don’t think they will face any hurdle in getting approval from the state government in this matter.
