Love happened while giving interview… 6 cricketers made sports anchors their ‘life partners’, 2 Indians also included

New Delhi. Rohit Sharma’s Team India has given the country moments of pride by winning the T20 World Cup 2024. In a thrilling match played in Bridgetown, India defeated South Africa by 7 runs and got the credit of becoming the T20 WC champion for the second time. Although every player had a special contribution in this victory of Team India, but Jasprit Bumrah won a lot of praise from cricket lovers and critics of the world for his/her accurate bowling and hitting ability. ‘Jassi’ took 15 wickets in 8 matches. Although Afghanistan’s Fazalhaq Farooqui and India’s Arshdeep Singh (17-17 wickets) took more wickets than him/her in the tournament, but Bumrah’s bowling average (8.26) and economy (4.17) made a big difference. In the T20 format where the bowlers are always the target of the batsmen, giving away around 4 runs in every over is indeed a great achievement. This is why Bumrah was declared the Player of the Tournament.

During and after the T20 World Cup 2024, Jaspreet was seen giving interviews to sports anchor Sanjana Ganesan several times. In personal life, this husband-wife duo was seen talking very seriously on the field. Both of them usually keep their professional life separate from their personal life, but Bumrah did not miss asking Sanjana once in light moments, ‘What is for dinner?’. Jaspreet is not the only cricketer to marry a sports anchor. Some other cricketers of the world have also made sports anchors their life partners.

I used to think that Sanjana was arrogant while she also had the same opinion about me.’ Bumrah had told, ‘I had seen her many times but we had the same perception about each other. This perception broke after a few years in 2019. I first spoke to Sanjana when she was in England to cover the World Cup 2019. Soon we realised that we had misconceptions about each other. We became friends, had a lot of conversations and later this friendship turned into love.
