New Delhi. Wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan has been made the captain of Pakistan’s ODI and T20 team. Pakistan Cricket Board announced the new captain in a special press conference on Sunday evening. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi announced this in Lahore. Naqvi has made all-rounder Agha Salman the vice-captain of the team. Rizwan will replace Babar Azam. Babar had resigned from the post of captain of limited overs cricket a few days ago.

30-year-old Babar Azam was made the captain again in March. Pakistan and Babar Azam’s own performance was very poor in the ODI World Cup played in India last year, after which Babar resigned from the captaincy. But before the T20 World Cup, Babar was again made the captain by PCB. Pakistan also had a bad season in the T20 World Cup played in West Indies and UAE, after which Babar again left the captaincy.

Mohammad Rizwan’s first assignment as captain will be the tour of Australia. Where Pakistan team will play 3 ODI and 3 T20 matches. This series will start from 4th November. 32 year old Rizwan will also lead the team in the ODI series against Zimbabwe. The series between Zimbabwe and Pakistan will be played from November 24. The same vice captain Salman Ali Aga will play the captaincy role in the T20 series against Zimbabwe. The T20 series between Pakistan and Zimbabwe will be played in Bulawayo from December 1. he/she is not part of this squad.
