Lok Sabha Speaker Election: No consensus between the ruling and opposition parties, for the first time in the history of Lok Sabha, elections will be held for the post of Speaker

New Delhi : There has been no consensus between the ruling party and the opposition on the post of Lok Sabha Speaker. In such a situation, this will be the first time that there will be an election for the post of Speaker. This is because the names of the candidates for the post of Lok Sabha Speaker have been announced from both the NDA and India Alliance. Om Birla’s name has been finalized from the BJP-led NDA. he/she has also held the post of Lok Sabha Speaker in the last session. This time too, he/she has filed nomination for the post of Speaker. On the other hand, the name of K Suresh came up from India Alliance. K Suresh also filed nomination on behalf of the opposition for the Speaker post. Now voting will be held for the post of Lok Sabha Speaker at 11 am on Wednesday. Only after this it will be decided who will become the next Lok Sabha Speaker.

There will be election for Lok Sabha speaker

Earlier there were reports that the matter has been settled between the ruling party and the opposition regarding the post of Speaker. However, the opposition soon cleared its stand on this. The controversy deepened because the opposition was claiming the post of Deputy Speaker. There was no support from the ruling party on this. The opposition’s demand was that the Speaker should be from the ruling party and the opposition party should get the post of Deputy Speaker of Lok Sabha. However, the BJP-led ruling camp did not approve of this. After this, the opposition took a decision for the election. Congress’ KC Venugopal said that if the opposition does not have a Deputy Speaker, then instead of supporting for the post of Speaker, we will field our own candidate. After this, K. Suresh from the opposition filed nomination for the post of Speaker.

Competition between Om Birla Vs K Suresh

BJP MP Om Birla filed his/her nomination for the post of Speaker of the 18th Lok Sabha. NDA has fielded Om Birla, INDIA Block has fielded Congress MP K Suresh for the post of Speaker. On the other hand, Union Minister Piyush Goyal said that first decide who will be the Deputy Speaker, then support will be given to the Speaker, we condemn this type of politics. The Speaker does not belong to any ruling party or opposition, he/she belongs to the entire House, similarly the Deputy Speaker also does not belong to any party or group, he/she belongs to the entire House. It is not in any tradition of Lok Sabha that the Deputy Speaker should be from a particular party.

Chirag Paswan surrounded the opposition

Union Minister Chirag Paswan said that this is not an election of any party, the post of Speaker is for the entire House. Since independence, I do not remember an election being held for the post in this manner. The way the opposition has played its role this time and the way the opposition has come forward with conditions to agree on the post of Deputy Speaker. We were all ready to discuss it, but despite that, I do not think it is right to insist on it. At present, victory is certain, there is no doubt about it.
