Lok Sabha Election: Yusuf Pathan became MP from Bahrampur, defeated a senior Congress leader, know how his/her cricket career was


New Delhi. Former Indian cricket team cricketer Yusuf Pathan has now entered politics. In the Lok Sabha elections, he/she has become an MP from Baharampur seat of West Bengal from Trinamool Congress Party. Yusuf Pathan was contesting against Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary on Baharampur seat. Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary had to face defeat here. However, Yusuf Pathan is not the first cricketer to become an MP. Before this, Gautam Gambhir, Navjot Singh Siddhu, Mohammad Azharuddin, Kirti Azad and Chetan Chauhan have also become MPs.

Yusuf Pathan made his/her debut in a T20 match. his/her debut was spectacular. Actually, before the final of the 2007 T20 World Cup, former Indian batsman Virender Sehwag got injured. In his/her place, MS Dhoni gave Yusuf Pathan a chance. Dhoni made Yusuf Pathan open the innings. However, Yusuf could not do anything special in his/her debut, he/she could score only 15 runs in 8 balls. Yusuf Pathan was a part of the 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 ODI World Cup winning team. After winning the 2011 World Cup, he/she lifted India’s great batsman Sachin Tendulkar on his/her shoulders.

he/she scored the fastest century in IPL
Yusuf Pathan is considered one of the biggest hitters of Indian cricket. In the very first season of IPL, Yusuf Pathan scored a century against Mumbai Indians in just 37 balls. No one could break his/her record for 4 seasons. But after that in 2013, Chris Gayle broke Yusuf’s record by scoring a century in just 30 balls.

Yusuf Pathan scored a total of 810 runs in 41 ODI innings in his/her ODI career. These 41 innings include 2 centuries and 3 half-centuries. Yusuf Pathan also scored a total of 236 runs in 18 T20 innings for India. During this, his/her strike rate was 146.58. While bowling, Yusuf took 33 wickets in ODIs and 13 wickets in T20 matches.
