Let EVM rest, it will be abused again in the next elections… What did ECI Rajiv Kumar say while smiling

New Delhi: The results of the Lok Sabha elections 2024 have come out. In this election, the NDA alliance has got a majority, but the BJP is behind the majority on its own. At the same time, the INDI alliance has also performed well in the elections. Before the results of the elections were released, many opposition leaders had raised doubts about EVM tampering. The opposition leaders had also lodged a complaint with the Election Commission regarding this. In the last few elections, the opposition has been raising questions on EVMs. However, the Election Commission has made it clear many times that tampering with EVMs is not possible. But this time the results of the Lok Sabha elections have come, after that the opposition did not raise questions on EVMs. This has happened after many years, when the EVM has been spotless. The Chief Election Commission has also taken a dig at this.

Let the EVMs rest
Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar said about EVM, the results of EVM are in front of everyone… why beat that poor thing. Let’s stay away from it. Let it rest for a few days. Let the EVM rest till the next election. Then it will come out, then its battery will be changed, then its papers will be changed… then it will get abused, then it will show its result well. It has been showing similar results since the last 20-22 elections, the government keeps changing from one place to another. The Chief Election Commissioner further said, ‘Perhaps EVM was born in such a moment that it has to face abuse. But it is very reliable, it has become neutral in every way and does its work.’

Elections will be held soon in Jammu and Kashmir
The Chief Election Commissioner also replied about the elections in Jammu and Kashmir. he/she said, ‘The elections in Jammu and Kashmir are pending, when we went there on 12 March, we had indicated that we will do it at the right time… We wanted to first get the people out by conducting these elections. We will give the people there a chance to form their own government and choose their representatives according to their wishes as soon as possible.’
