‘Laila Majnu’ is releasing in theatres again after 6 years, the film will run only in these theatres, know everything

Sajid Ali’s directorial debut ‘Laila Majnu’, Tripti Dimri’s debut film ‘Laila Majnu’ is all set to re-release in cinemas worldwide on August 9, 2024. Though the film did not perform well at the box office in 2018, it later received a lot of praise. The film is winning the hearts of the audience after its OTT release. Imtiaz Ali, who wrote the script, shared his/her excitement and wrote, ‘Laila Majnu is back on much demand!!! Thank you to your love which pulled it back to cinemas after six years!! Re-releasing on 9th August 24 in cinemas across the country. Congratulations to Team LM.’ he/she also shared the list of cinemas where the film will be re-released. After Imtiaz officially announced the film’s release, television queen Ekta Kapoor called it ‘epic’. A fan also joined in and requested the team, ‘Interval mat rakhna please, rote hue koi dekha lega lights on hogi toh.’

How did Tripti Dimri get the role?

In an interview with IANS, Tripti Dimri shared that she never auditioned for her role in Laila Majnu. Instead, she was discovered by the casting head of the film, who suggested her to audition considering her Kashmiri look. This led to her getting the role, which marked the beginning of her career. Written by Imtiaz Ali, the film was released on September 7, 2018. Written by Sajid Ali, Imtiaz Ali and Sajid Ali, Laila Majnu also featured Avinash Tiwari in the lead role along with Tripti Dimri.
