‘I think the industry is not that responsible for nepotism’

Kriti said that the film industry is not responsible for nepotism but the media and the audience have made the industry addicted to it. In the ‘Masterclass session’, Kriti said, ‘I think the industry is not that responsible for nepotism. Media and audience are also responsible for this. The audience wants to see what the media is showing about some star kids. Because the audience is interested in them, the industry feels that since the audience is interested then films should be made with them. So I think it’s a cycle. But I think if you’re talented, you’ll get there. If you’re not talented and if you don’t have a connection with the audience, you won’t get there.

‘If you are not from a film background, it takes time for you to reach there’

he/she further said, ‘When you don’t have a film background, it takes time for you to get there. It takes time to get the opportunities you want. It also takes time for you to get on the cover page of those magazines. So everything is a bit of a struggle. But after 2-3 films, if you keep working hard and keep at it, no one can stop you.
