Kolkata rape murder case: Former principal of RG Kar College Sandip Ghosh gets a setback from SC, court rejects petition

New Delhi: There is an atmosphere of anger across the country regarding the Kolkata doctor rape murder case. Meanwhile, former principal of RG Kar Medical College, Sandeep Ghosh has received a big blow from the Supreme Court. The court has rejected Sandeep Ghosh’s petition. In which Ghosh had challenged the High Court’s decision to hand over the investigation of financial irregularities during his/her tenure to the CBI.

The Supreme Court refused to intervene

The Supreme Court, while rejecting the petition of Sandeep Ghosh, said that it will not interfere in any way with the order of the Calcutta High Court. Along with this, the court has also given permission to the CBI to investigate this matter. Let us tell you that Dr. Akhtar Ali, former vice-president of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, had filed a complaint against Sandeep Ghosh regarding financial irregularities in several cases. Which included allegations like smuggling of dead bodies, corruption in biomedical waste.

What did Sandeep Ghosh say in the petition?

In the petition filed by Sandip Ghosh, it was said that his/her side was not heard by the Calcutta High Court before handing over the corruption investigation to the CBI. However, the Supreme Court has rejected his/her petition. The ED team is raiding Sandip Ghosh’s residence as well as many other places this morning. Officials said that a team of 100 ED officers is conducting search operations at about 8 places.

Who is Sandip Ghosh?

Sandip Ghosh is the former principal of Kolkata RG Kar Medical College. he/she completed his/her schooling from Bongaon High School near Kolkata. After that he/she did further studies from RG Kar Medical College. In the year 1994, he/she completed his/her MBBS and became an orthopedic surgeon. After that, in the year 2021, he/she was made the principal of RG Kar Medical College. Even after two years of becoming the principal, the former deputy superintendent of the college, Akhtar Ali, filed a complaint against Sandip Ghosh with the State Vigilance Commission. In which serious allegations were made against Sandip Ghosh.
