Kolkata Rape Case: CBI has high hopes from polygraph test, experts said- DNA test report is the real proof to reach the accused

New Delhi: The mystery of the heinous crime of rape and murder of a female doctor in Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College is not being solved. On the orders of the Kolkata High Court, the CBI took over the investigation of this case on August 13. But so far the CBI has been able to make only as much progress in the matter of arrest as the Kolkata Police arrested the main accused Sanjay Roy on August 10, the day after the incident. Even after 14 days, the CBI has not been able to reach any other accused except the only arrested accused Sanjay Roy. While there is suspicion of more than one person being involved in this heinous murder.

Polygraph tests were conducted on all seven including the main accused

Apart from the main accused Sanjay Roy, the CBI has conducted polygraph tests of six prime suspects. These include former principal of the medical college Sandeep Ghosh, four doctors who had dinner with the lady doctor on the night of the incident, interns and another volunteer who is said to be friends with Sanjay Roy. Sandeep Ghosh and another doctor were also subjected to polygraph tests on 26 August. Even after so many tests, the result in the form of the next arrest by the CBI is zero. Till the time of writing the news, out of the two people who were subjected to polygraph tests on Monday, Sandeep Ghosh’s test could not be completed.

No official statement on DNA report

Experts say that in this case, when no CCTV footage or any other direct evidence has been found yet, then the DNA test report of the accused will be the real and solid proof to reach the culprit or culprits. In such a situation, sources say that when the accused was arrested on August 10, then why did the DNA report not come even after 17 days. It could be that the DNA report has come, but the liquid of the accused in it matches with the deceased. The blood and skin pieces of one or more accused stuck in the nails of the deceased are not matching with the accused Sanjay. In such a situation, it is being suspected that it is possible that the accused Sanjay may have raped the deceased, but with the dead body after her death. The CBI is not ready to say anything officially about the DNA report coming or not.

CBI has high hopes from the polygraph test

Apart from one main accused, CBI has high hopes from the polygraph test conducted on six suspects. CBI sources also say that they have got ‘more than before’. But the way no new arrests and raids have been seen after the polygraph test, it seems that CBI has not got anything big from the polygraph test. Sources say that it is certain that CBI has got some answers from this test, on which work has been started. It is hoped that these can soon lead to a big breakthrough in the form of getting to the bottom of this case.

Will former principal Sandip Ghosh be arrested?

All eyes are on the arrest of the former principal. Sources are hopeful that the CBI will soon arrest the former principal of the medical college, Sandeep Ghosh. Because, his/her activities on the day of the incident were found suspicious. Then an FIR has been filed against him/her in the case of alleged corruption. In such a situation, sources say that there is not much time left for the arrest of the former principal. The CBI can arrest him/her soon. Apart from these, more people can be arrested among the suspects.

Was the evidence also tampered with?

In this case, the CBI is also surprised that the lady doctor was killed so brutally. The postmortem report revealed that she was first killed by pressing her mouth and strangling her. Blood and skin fragments were also found in her nails. In such a situation, it is obvious that she must have strongly opposed the accused or accused to save herself, she must have also screamed. But after getting the case, when the CBI saw the photo of the crime scene and the scene, it did not seem that such a dangerous crime could have been committed here. Even the bedsheet on the mattress on which the lady doctor’s body was found was not moved. Many other things were kept at the crime scene as if nothing had happened. So was the crime committed somewhere else and the body kept here or was the bedsheet changed and other tampering done to erase evidence from the crime scene after the crime.

So far 100 people have been questioned

CBI has so far questioned more than 100 people in this case. Footage of all the CCTV cameras installed inside and outside the hospital was checked. All duty registers kept in the hospital were confiscated. Every person who was on duty that night is being questioned. But CBI is still waiting for a breakthrough. CBI feels that this heinous crime cannot be the work of a single person, that is why CBI is conducting such a marathon investigation apart from polygraph test.

Why DNA tests were not done for everyone

DNA samples of the main accused have been taken. Sources say that apart from this, DNA samples of all other suspects should also be taken. Because, even if any accused can cheat the lie detector test, DNA test cannot be cheated under any circumstances. If the DNA of one or two or more of the six or more suspects matches with the samples taken from the dead body of the deceased doctor, then this case will be solved immediately. CBI should also take DNA samples of all those suspects in this case and match them with the samples taken from the dead body of the deceased, on whom CBI has suspicion. Sources say that in such emergency cases, DNA reports also come quickly. But in this case, CBI is not disclosing whether the DNA report will come or not.
