New Delhi. The batsman of England, whom KKR did not consider worthy of its IPL 2025 team, is on fire. Phil Salt made KKR realize that he/she might have made a big mistake by scoring a stormy century on Saturday night. The wicketkeeper batsman scored more than 55 percent of the runs for England against the West Indies and the team returned unbeaten after winning. Thanks to Phil Salt’s century, England defeated West Indies by 8 wickets with 19 balls remaining in the first T20 match.

The England team is currently on the West Indies tour. he/she had to face defeat 1-2 in the ODI series. Instead of coming under pressure due to this defeat, England has become more attacking. They defeated West Indies badly in the first match of the five-match series. Host West Indies made a good score of 182 runs in the first T20 match, but England proved it to be dwarf and won the match in the 17th over itself. That too by losing only two wickets.

Salt-ville Jacques gave a stormy start
Opener Phil Salt was the hero of England’s victory. he/she played an unbeaten inning of 103 runs on 54 balls. England made a good start while chasing the target of 183 runs. Phil Salt and Will Jacques (17) made a partnership of 73 runs in 6 overs. However, England suffered two setbacks in quick succession. Will Jace returned to the pavilion after scoring 17 runs. Captain Jos Buttler, who was batting at number three, could not even open his/her account. Will Jacques and Jos Buttler have also not been retained by their IPL teams. In IPL 2024, Will Jacques played for Royal Challengers Bangalore and Butler played for Rajasthan Royals.

Scored the third century of T20I career
After captain Butler’s dismissal, Phil Salt and Jacob Bethel did not allow England to suffer any further setbacks. Both of them made an unbeaten partnership of 107 runs and led their team to victory. Along with Phil Salt, Jacob Bethel (56) also returned to the pavilion unbeaten. Phil Salt has played innings of 59, 74 and 103 runs for England after being released by KKR. This is his/her third T20 International century.

KKR has retained Rinku Singh, Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, Varun Chakraborty, Harshit Rana, Ramandeep Singh. Apart from these, he/she has released all the members who made the team champion in 2024, which also includes captain Shreyas Iyer.
