Kharge went into the well during Rajya Sabha proceedings, Speaker Dhankar said- this is painful, I will take action

New Delhi: A war of words broke out between Speaker Jagdeep Dhankhar and Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge in Rajya Sabha. Actually, the President’s address was being discussed in Rajya Sabha, when Kharge went into the well of the House. Speaker Dhankhar expressed great displeasure over Kharge. Dhankhar said that Kharge did this to attract media attention. Kharge, on the other hand, called it wrong and said that the Rajya Sabha Speaker was at fault.

According to the information, Rajya Sabha Speaker Jagdeep Dhankhar expressed his/her displeasure against Mallikarjun Kharge and said that it is a very painful moment for him/her that the opposition leader is coming to the well of the House. Not only this, senior leaders Mukul Wasnik and Pramod Tiwari are also coming to the well with him/her. Dhankhar said, ‘It is more painful for me that Kharge was lying outside. he/she was misreporting outside. I am not using harsh words. he/she is now denying.’

‘Action will be taken on this step’
Dhankhar said, ‘The statement of ANI on Twitter is contradictory. At one time they say that they did not go to the well and at another time they say that we went to the well. This institution is being harmed. This is happening in the temple of democracy. This is being done by those who have the responsibility to protect it. This is more painful. I am alert about this and my office will take action on this.’

Kharge accused of step-motherly treatment
At the same time, Mallikarjun Kharge accused Dhankhar of treating him/her stepmotherly. he/she said, ‘I would like to tell the Rajya Sabha Chairman that his/her stepmotherly behaviour towards the opposition today has “tainted the history of the Indian Parliament”! Kharge said on the eve, ‘The Chairman was only looking at the ruling party. I raised my hand, stood up, followed parliamentary dignity and rules for 10 minutes to attract his/her attention, yet he/she did not look at the Leader of the Opposition in the House. When the Leader of the Opposition draws his/her attention as per the rules, he/she should look at him/her, but instead, he/she deliberately ignored me to humiliate me, I have to either go inside or shout very loudly. So I will definitely say that this is the fault of the Chairman.’
