On Sunday, March 19th, supporters of Khalistan attacked the Indian High Commission in London. Following the attack, on Wednesday, March 22nd, Khalistani supporters again demonstrated outside the High Commission. However, this time, the security of the High Commission was increased, and barricades were installed. Demonstrations were held in front of these barricades with the flag of Khalistan in hand.
To ensure the safety of the High Commission, the number of barricades and police personnel were increased on the spot. Police officers and patrolling officers were seen on duty outside the building known as India Place in central London. This is the same place where a large Indian flag was found hanging between the windows after Sunday’s incident.
At the same time, the barricades outside the British High Commission in Delhi were removed. However, the security system remained the same as before. A senior police officer in Delhi told ‘PTI-Bhasha’, “The security arrangements outside the British High Commission here are tight. However, the barricades put up on the road leading to the High Commission have been removed as they were causing inconvenience to the movement.”
