Under this, Kerala Police has registered a rape case against famous actor Siddique after a complaint by a young actress. The complainant had made serious allegations against Siddique through the media earlier this week, after which he/she was forced to resign from his/her post as the general secretary of the actors’ organization ‘Malayalam Movie Artists Association’ (AMMA).

Shocking revelations are happening in the Malayalam film industry

This woman, who once wanted to work in the Malayalam industry, has made a shocking revelation after the Hema Committee report came out, which exposed rampant sexual abuse and blatant gender inequality in the film industry. Since the report came out, many actors have come out openly and narrated their ordeal and made allegations against many co-stars.

The incident is from the year 2016, the incident happened in a hotel

The FIR was registered under Sections 376 (rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) at Thiruvananthapuram city police limits on Wednesday, the state police said. According to the complaint, the alleged crime took place at a hotel in the city in 2016. A team has been formed to investigate all the complaints raised after the Hema Committee report, which will investigate the cases.

Siddiqui rejected the allegations

After the woman filed a complaint, Siddique approached the police and said that a criminal conspiracy was being hatched to fabricate and spread false allegations against him/her. In his/her complaint to the state police chief, Siddique had claimed, ‘The reputation of the entire Malayalam film industry is being deliberately tarnished by a group of people and it is necessary that the people behind this criminal conspiracy be brought to light. I request you to take effective action in this matter so that the truth comes out and the culprits behind the criminal conspiracy to fabricate and publish false and scandalous allegations are caught.’

A case was filed against director Ranjit

On Monday, the police also registered a case against director Ranjit based on a complaint by a Bengali actress who said he/she had misbehaved with her during pre-production discussions of a 2009 film.
