New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has faced a big problem. A CAG audit has been ordered for the expenditure incurred on the repair of Aam Aadmi Party’s convenor Kejriwal’s bungalow. Explain that after the recommendation of Lieutenant Governor of Delhi VK Saxena, it has been decided by the Union Home Ministry to conduct the CAG audit. Let us tell you that some time ago BJP had alleged that about Rs 45 crore was spent on the ‘beautification’ of Kejriwal’s official residence located in the Civil Lines area of ​​the city. The party had demanded Kejriwal’s resignation on ‘moral’ grounds.

How much was spent on Kejriwal’s bungalow?

A senior PWD official had said, “It was not a renovation and a new structure has been built in place of the old one. his/her camp office is also there. The expenditure is around Rs 44 crore, but the thing to note is that the old structure has been replaced with the new one. Some documents revealed that against the sanctioned amount of Rs 43.70 crore, a total of Rs 44.78 crore was spent on “additions or alterations” to Kejriwal’s official residence at 6-Flagstaff Road in Civil Lines.

Rs 11.30 crore was spent on the interior.
The documents revealed that it was spent in 6 installments between September 9, 2020 and June, 2022. According to the documents, the total expenditure includes Rs 11.30 crore for interior decoration, Rs 6.02 crore for stone and marble flooring, Rs 1 crore for interior consultancy, Rs 2.58 crore for electrical fittings and equipment, Rs 2.85 crore for fire fighting systems, Rs 1.41 crore for wardrobes and accessories fittings. and Rs 1.1 crore spent on kitchen equipment.

Aam Aadmi Party had defended
The Aam Aadmi Party had given clarification regarding the expenditure incurred on the repair of the bungalow. Senior party leader Raghav Chadha has said that the Chief Minister’s residence was built 75-80 years ago in 1942. he/she said that the Public Works Department (PWD) of the Delhi government had recommended its renovation after an audit. Other Aam Aadmi Party leaders, including party MLA Naresh Balyan, had then shared purported videos of debris falling from the roof of the Chief Minister’s old residence on social media, claiming that the house built in 1942 was in a dilapidated condition.
