‘Keep me out of the team…’ Did Shaheen Afridi really say this? Former cricketer claimed

New Delhi. Pakistan’s star fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has requested the team management and national selectors not to consider his/her name for the Test matches in South Africa for workload management. Afridi wants to be fully fit for the ICC Champions Trophy to be held from February to March 2025. Former Pakistani cricketer Aaqib Javed has said this.

When the Pakistani team was announced without Shaheen for the two Tests against South Africa, senior selector Aaqib Javed said that workload management is being done in an effort to keep him/her fresh for the Champions Trophy. The source said, “The reality is that Shaheen himself had requested that he/she be kept out of Test matches till the Champions Trophy.”

he/she said that Shaheen told the team management and the board that he/she has also received an offer from a Bangladesh Premier League team and has assured that he/she will take charge of the management during the T20 league to be held from December 30 to February 7.
