Kawad Yatra 2024: Officials’ orders are hasty and confusing… BJP leader Naqvi’s sharp post on Muzaffarnagar nameplate controversy

New Delhi: Preparations for the Kanwar Yatra are in full swing in Uttar Pradesh. During this, strict security arrangements are being made and routes are being decided. Meanwhile, the Muzaffarnagar police has ordered all shopkeepers and street vendors to put up name plates in front of their shops, which has created a situation of controversy. After the instructions of the police, some have hung ‘Arif Aam Wala’ on their carts and some have written ‘Nisar Phal Wala’. Opposition parties are targeting the UP government and police over this order. Senior BJP leader and former minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has also criticized this order on social media. his/her post is in reference to the same order issued in Muzaffarnagar. Naqvi wrote in a post on the social media platform X, ‘Orders of some over-enthusiastic officials can promote the disease of hasty untouchability. Faith must be respected, but untouchability should not be protected. Do not ask about birth and caste, what is caste and creed. Raidas, all are sons of the Lord, none is of low caste.

On the other hand, the administration does not want to leave any stone unturned regarding security arrangements during the Kanwar Yatra. For this, along with deciding the route, police force is also being deployed. However, different reactions are coming to this order of the police. Some people are calling it a necessary step from the security point of view, while some are calling it unnecessary.
