Playing for Vidarbha in the Vijay Hazare Trophy on Sunday, captain Karun Nair scored his/her fifth century in the tournament in the quarter-finals against Rajasthan at Motibagh Cricket Ground in Vadodara.

New Delhi. In the Vijay Hazare Trophy, Karun Nair scored his/her fourth consecutive List A century (5th in the tournament) in the quarterfinal match. Playing for Vidarbha in the Vijay Hazare Trophy on Sunday, captain Karun Nair scored his/her fourth consecutive century in the quarter-finals against Rajasthan at Motibagh Cricket Ground and took the team to the semi-finals. With this, he/she has become the second batsman to score the most centuries in a session.

While chasing the huge target of 292 runs against Rajasthan, 33 year old Nair made an opening partnership of 92 runs between Yash Rathod and Dhruv Shorey. After this, Karun Nair, who came at number three, along with Shorey chased the target and completed his/her century in 114 balls. he/she completed his/her fourth century in just 77 balls with the help of 11 fours and three sixes in the fourth consecutive innings.

he/she scored a total of 122 runs in 84 balls. Shortly after the century, Nair scored 24 runs with the help of three fours and two sixes in five balls of fast bowler Khalil Ahmed. Due to which Vidarbha won by nine wickets in 43.3 overs.

In his/her last four matches with the bat in the league stage, Nair scored 112*, 111*, 163* and 44* against Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Chandigarh and Chhattisgarh respectively. Nair had earlier started the tournament with a century against Jammu and Kashmir. Overall, he/she has become the second batsman after Jagadeesan of Tamil Nadu to score five centuries in a session of Vijay Hazare Trophy.
