Karnataka defeated Bihar, Mayank Agarwal scored a century, then why did Sakibul Ghani become the man of the match?


Patna. In the third Ranji Trophy match of this season played at Moinul Haq Stadium in Patna, Bihar team had to face defeat by eight wickets at the hands of Karnataka. However, the excellent performance of some players from Bihar became a topic of discussion. Especially Sakibul Ghani and bowler Himanshu Singh won everyone’s hearts with their game.

Sakibul Ghani’s tremendous innings
In the second innings, when Bihar’s batsmen were continuously struggling, Sakibul Ghani took charge. he/she played a tremendous inning of 130 runs with the help of 15 fours and four sixes. For his/her brilliant performance he/she was awarded “Man of the Match”. This innings of Sakibul gave some hope to Bihar, however the rest of the batsmen of the team could not support him/her and Bihar was all out for 212 runs. This innings of Sakibul made the cricket fans of Bihar feel proud.

Himanshu Singh took a hat-trick
Bihar’s young bowler Himanshu Singh also impressed everyone with his/her game in this match. he/she troubled Karnataka’s batsmen with his/her excellent bowling and achieved a hat-trick. Himanshu had taken two wickets on two consecutive balls at the end of the first innings and completed his/her hat-trick by taking a wicket on the first ball of the second innings also. This performance has made Himanshu the rising star of Bihar bowling.

Eyewitness account of the match
Karnataka won the toss and gave Bihar the chance to bat first, in which Bihar was reduced to just 143 runs in the first innings. In response, Karnataka scored 287 runs in its first innings and took a lead of 144 runs. Bihar’s second innings ended at 212 runs, leaving Karnataka a target of only 69 runs to win. Karnataka achieved this target by losing two wickets in 10.1 overs.

Batting for Bihar in the second innings, Vaibhav Suryavanshi scored 6 runs, Shraman Nigrodh, Veer Pratap Singh, Anuj Raj 0, Babul Kumar 44 runs, Bipin Saurabh 7 runs, Raghavendra Pratap 4 runs, Jitin 15 runs, Himanshu Singh scored one run. Was out while Saqib Hussain remained unbeaten on 0.

Karnataka’s Shreyas Gopal took four wickets, V Vaishakh took three wickets and Mohsin Khan, Vidyadhar Patil and Kaushik V took one wicket each. To complete the target of 69 runs of victory, Karnataka team captain Mayank Agarwal was out after scoring 9 runs and Sarman R was out after scoring 15 runs, while Nitin Jose remained unbeaten after scoring 28 runs and Abhinav Manohar remained unbeaten after scoring 17 runs.

Next match from Madhya Pradesh
Bihar’s next match will be played against Madhya Pradesh at Moinul Haq Stadium from 6th November. It is expected that Sakibul Ghani and Himanshu Singh will continue their performance in this match and contribute to the victory of Bihar team.

Even though Bihar had to face defeat in this match, the performance of Sakibul and Himanshu has raised new hopes for the future.
