Kareena herself is a mother of two children but she is often seen praising her mother-in-law Sharmila Tagore. Many years ago, Kareena had to go to London for shooting and then Kareena took only Jeh with her. Taimur was left with Saif at home. Saif took care of Taimur at that time.

Kareena gives all the credit for this to her mother-in-law Sharmila Tagore that Saif is like this because of her upbringing. Sharmila had said in an interview that she had taught her children from an early age that they had to go out for work.

Sharmila said that she had told her children that she is not ignoring them but working makes them happy. Just as a birthday party makes her happy, she feels happy working in the same way.

Sharmila had told that in those times it was not considered good for married women to work. She was considered very cruel that she left her children at home and went to work. She taught her children to see their mother as a working person and ask her questions about her work. Her children never thought that she was leaving them and going to work.
