Karachi faced price increase during Ramadan, residents struggled to spend the necessary expenses

TNN stories reported that residents of Karachi are struggling with a sharp increase in the prices of essential commodities, which has made it difficult for many people to bear the cost of basic requirements.

The cost of vegetables, oil, fruits, dried fruits, spices and clothes has increased considerably since the onset of the holy month, making citizens disappointed and cumbersome.

Ahsan, an elderly resident, gave a voice to his/her concerns, saying, “People are afraid of protesting against the government during Ramadan, due to fear of police vengeance. Just a week before Ramadan, daily mandatory prices were very low, but now everything is incredibly expensive. ,

he/she also attributed the price increase for lack of accountability in large markets, where sellers take advantage of public help.

Another resident, Haji Muhammad Ali, convicted the officials for neglecting the issue. “Officers are sleeping, receiving their huge salaries, while common people are brunt of this inflation. They do not care about the difficulties faced by the common man, ”he/she said. Their frustration reflects widespread dissatisfaction among citizens who feel abandoned by the government.

According to TNN’s stories report, local shopkeepers are allegedly facing criticism to exploit the situation, with dried fruits, spices and crockery prices, which is beyond strength.

“It is all very expensive,” a local resident complained, stating that the middle and low-class families are the most affected. Another resident expressed concern about the lack of options, said, “What will people eat if they boycott these products?” They are helpless. ,

Despite their anger, many citizens feel powerless to push back against the price increase against the fear of government vengeance. As Ramadan continues, the public is demanding more accountability from both market regulators and officials to ensure that the basic requirements remain within reach, TNN’s stories told.

Cost increase in costs has increased widespread frustration, with several questions whether the authorities will take action to protect the communities struggling during this holy month.
