Kannada actors Darshan and Pavitra Gowda got bail from Karnataka HC, had gone to jail

The Karnataka High Court on Friday, December 13 granted bail to Kannada film actor Darshan Thoogudeep in the Renukaswamy murder case. The court also granted bail to Darshan, along with his/her friend Pavitra Gowda and seven others, who are currently in jail in the case. The actor was arrested on June 11 for the murder of his/her fan Renukaswamy. Renukaswamy had sent obscene messages to Pavitra Gowda on June 8, 2024, after which this incident took place. Actor Darshan was earlier kept in Parappana Agrahara jail in Bengaluru. But when a picture of him/her relaxing with some jail inmates surfaced on social media, he/she was transferred to Bellary Central Jail. Darshan is currently admitted in the hospital due to back pain.

The court had reserved the case

According to ‘Bar & Bench’ report, Justice S Vishwajit Shetty had reserved his/her verdict on the bail pleas of Darshan Thoogudeepa and his/her co-accused on December 9. The case revolves around the death of 33-year-old auto driver Renukaswamy, whose body was found on June 9.

was granted interim bail

The Karnataka High Court had earlier in October granted interim bail to Darshan after he/she filed a bail plea seeking permission to undergo surgery. Justice S Vishwajit Shetty, who was hearing the case, allowed the application and granted six weeks’ interim bail to the actor for his/her treatment.
