BMC ran a bulldozer in 2020

About four years ago in September 2020, there was a lot of controversy between Kangana Ranaut and BMC regarding this bungalow. BMC alleged that Kangana had done illegal construction in the bungalow. After serving notice, the civic body had bulldozed some parts of Kangana’s office located in Pali Hill.

Kangana had filed a case in the High Court, the action was ‘motivated by malice’

The demolition work was stopped after the Bombay High Court’s stay order on September 9 in the case. Kangana Ranaut had also filed a case against BMC in the court and demanded Rs 2 crore as compensation. But then in May 2023, Kangana withdrew her petition. During the hearing, a bench of Justice SJ Kathawala and Justice Riyaz Chagla of the Bombay High Court held that the Municipal Corporation’s action of demolishing about 40 percent of the bungalow was ‘motivated by malice’ and it was a complete disregard of rights.
