A source related to the matter said, ‘The decision to stop the screening of ‘Emergency’ in Bangladesh is related to the current tense relations between India and Bangladesh. Indira Gandhi played a role in the independence of Bangladesh

According to reports, Indira Gandhi played an important role in the independence of Bangladesh from Pakistan. However, America had demanded him/her not to interfere in the affairs of both the countries. Nevertheless, Indira went ahead, as she felt it would be better for India economically to wage war against Pakistan, rather than harboring millions of refugees, which resulted in the India-Pakistan War of 1971.
