Kambli was ‘Piddi’ ahead of Sachin’s game, a record in which the friend was overshadowed

New Delhi. Sachin Tendulkar is considered the God of Cricket. By scoring centuries in his/her career spanning over two decades, the Master Blaster made a record in his/her name which seems impossible to break. Sachin Tendulkar, who played 200 Tests and 463 ODIs, scored more than 34 thousand runs in his/her international career. Where Sachin was successful in debuting in the Indian team at the age of just 15. At the same time, his/her childhood friend Vinod Kambli, who had played with Sachin at school level, had to wait a long time for his/her debut in Team India. Even though there cannot be any comparison between the games of Sachin and Kambli, there is one case in which Kambli is ahead of his/her friend.

This difference is not very big. Kambli is ahead of Sachin in terms of test average by a slight margin. This may sound a bit surprising but it is true. Yes, during his/her Test career, Sachin Tendulkar had scored 15,921 runs in 200 matches at an average of 53.79. During this period, he/she scored 51 centuries and 68 half-centuries with his/her bat. Sachin also scored six double centuries in his/her Test career. On the other hand, Vinod Kambli’s test career does not seem to stand in comparison to the Master Blaster.

What is the difference in the average of Sachin-Kambli?
Kambli played only 17 international test matches. Kambli, who made his/her Test debut in 1993, ended his/her journey in this format in 1995. During this period he/she also scored four centuries and three half-centuries. Kambli also has two double centuries in his/her career. If we talk about test average, Kambli is ahead of Sachin by a slight margin. Kambli had scored 1084 runs at an average of 54.2 in his/her short career. Kambli is ahead of Sachin by 0.41 points in test average.

Sachin Tendulkar and Vinod Kambli studied together in Shardashram Vidya Mandir School. Then both of them made a record partnership of 664 runs while playing against St. Xavier High School in the semi-final match of Harris Shield tournament. In this match, Sachin scored unbeaten 326 runs while Kambli scored unbeaten 349 runs with the bat. This was the period when Sachin was 15 and Kambli was 16 years old. After this Sachin got a chance to play for India. At the same time, on the basis of his/her excellent performance in Under-19 cricket for Mumbai, Kambli was successful in making his/her debut in 1991, about two years after Sachin.
