Talking about the theme of his/her films ‘Indian 2’ and ‘Indian 3’, he/she said, ‘I am a Tamilian and an Indian, this is my identity and yours too. This is the theme of our film. A Tamilian knows when to keep quiet and when not to. I have spoken about this before and I got into trouble then. But now I don’t worry about it.’

‘Those who rule by dividing will not find a place to return’

Kamal Haasan further asked the people present in his/her speech what it means to be an Indian in today’s time. he/she said, ‘The centuries-old British policy of divide and rule worked because they had a home to return to. But now it will not work. I wonder where will those who try to do this today go after doing it? They should remember that after doing this they will not find any place to return to.’

Kamal Haasan also expressed his/her desire for a Tamil person to rule the country. he/she said, ‘Every city is your city. Everyone is your relative. We are known for giving life to the people who come to our state. Then why shouldn’t a day come when a Tamil rules the country? This is my country, and we should protect its unity.’

‘Indian 2’ will release in cinemas on July 12

Kamal also praised director Shankar in his/her speech. he/she said that usually in South India, if an actor rejects a film once, then no director approaches him/her again with the film, but Shankar is not one of them. ‘Indian 2’ is going to be released on 12th July next month.
