The CJI assured that the Delhi High Court Justice Yashwant Verma would be recommended again in the case of withdrawal of the recommendation of Allahabad transfer. Representatives of the associations also submitted a memorandum to the CJI office, expressing concern over the recovery of alleged cash at the official residence of Justice Verma and tampering with the evidence. It was alleged that the reports of burnt cash bundles were revealed after the fire incident at Justice Verma's official residence on the night of 14 March. Questioned why an FIR has not been lodged for this incident till now. Earlier in the day, representatives of the Bar Body of Allahabad, Gujarat, Kerala, Jabalpur, Karnataka and Lucknow High Court submitted a memorandum to the CJI office, which expressed concern over alleged cash seizures and evidence tampering at the official residence of Justice Yashwant Verma.Bar Association questioned why an FIR has not been lodged for this incident till now. Criminal investigation should be started in this case. The memorandum also stated that according to the report of the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court, someone had removed some items from Justice Verma's residence a day after the incident. Bar organizations feared that if the FIR was not registered in the case, the involvement of others involved in it would not be revealed and their investigation would be adversely affected.Issue raised in Lok Sabha, demand for statement from Law MinisterThe case of cash at the house of a judge of Delhi High Court arose in the Lok Sabha on Thursday.
