Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan surprised everyone with his/her strong acting in his/her first film ‘Maharaj’ and made a great debut. This movie was released on Netflix. Now his/her next film is coming in theatres. he/she had a special conversation with us and made many revelations.

Actor Junaid Khan, son of Bollywood’s Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan, has been working day and night in theater for many years to make himself perfect. he/she has also demonstrated this through his/her first film ‘Maharaj’. he/she believes that he/she will always benefit from his/her father’s name, but he/she does not take any pressure from comparisons with him/her. Actors want their work to reach more people. Be it OTT or theatre. Recently he/she came to Lucknow to showcase his/her theater skills and was impressed by the audience here. In this special meeting, he/she candidly answered many questions including the lessons learned from his/her father, the magic of theatre, distance from social media.You won’t find an audience like Lucknow anywhere else.
I came to Lucknow for the first time in 2018 for my friend’s wedding and stayed for four-five days. I came to do a show in 2019 and now I have come for the third time. I think you won’t find an audience like Lucknow anywhere. As an artiste, I felt the positive energy that I received from him/her to make my show good. The special thing is that all three times I have come here in December. The food of Lucknow is equally amazing and its enjoyment increases manifold in winter. Kebabs and biryani are amazing in this city. When I was going for setup, I got a call from father.

I am now 30 years old
It was the year 2012, when I told my father that I had to go to America to learn acting, he/she said, you can learn acting anywhere, you will keep learning as much as you can. If you want to work in India, you will have to understand its culture, language and people. No school will be able to teach all these things. However, he/she is a father and whenever I go out somewhere, he/she tells me to take a car and a security guard. I say, Papa, you unilaterally tell me to travel the whole country and do not let me go to the grocery store alone, I have turned 30 years old. Papa always taught me to behave well with people, no matter what field I work in.

Papa said that if you want to work in India, you will have to understand its culture, language and people.

My and papa’s performance will not be the same
Papa is rich and powerful. Whether I use them or not but being his/her son, all these things always remain in people’s minds. I will always benefit from it. Aditya Chopra (producer of the film ‘Maharaj’) knew me, that’s why he/she thought of me. Junaid Khan also talked about comparisons with Aamir Khan. he/she said that Papa and I are physically different. I am bigger than him/her in size, so our performance can never be the same. Rest, you will have to ask my mother (Reena Dutta) which qualities match with mine because whenever she is angry with me, she says that you are exactly like your father. However, people say I look a lot like him/her.

The film is complete, not a stage show
Theater is my passion. I took training in this in America. I have been doing theater in Mumbai since 2017. I have also done seven-eight plays on stage. The joy of live performance is not available anywhere else except theatre. This is a different kind of magic, which can only be felt. A film is complete once it is made but a stage show is never complete, because every time you perform something better will come out. When you perform on stage, your inner shyness goes away. It has been seven years since I have been doing theatre, this journey will continue in future too. I have some shows in Mumbai in January. Apart from this, I also want to do films. I have two films coming up. One will come in February. Have finished shooting for one, which Papa is producing.

Social media never excited
When any technical help is needed, father comes in handy because he/she has been working in this industry for a long time. Whatever problem arises, they definitely have a solution. Most of our thoughts match when it comes to work. he/she is producing one of my films. Hopefully we will work together in the future. Yes, it is true that both of us are not on social media. Social media was different during my college days. I was in college till 2014, when there was no Instagram. At that time there was Facebook but it was not like the social media platforms we have today. Social media has never excited me. This is why I don’t have an account.

Put the film on YouTube for free, but the producer will not agreeIt is important for me that people watch my films, not whether it is released in theaters or on any platform. It doesn’t matter where the audience is watching my work. I say put it on YouTube for free and more people will watch it. However, no producer will agree to this.
